Here is another one, not really out of my vault, once again out of my DRAWER! :D
My father received this as a birthday gift, on his birthday in 1987.
On the Certificate of Authenticity my grandpa wrote "Mike, hold onto this and you'll never be broke"
He has given this coin to me, and I have posted this one, like the other commemorative I showed, but I just redid the picture.

    Enjoy!

    Well... Nice at that time.
This is the same grandfather who married a woman on impulse, and never wanted to see his family again. Although his will left me and my father $300,000 worth of coins, Norma (his new wife) got them, and sold them, QUICK.
He did a lot for this country, and was one hell of a man,but towards the end of his life, he just changed, and I never gt to see him in his last days, even in his last few years!

I just gotta be happy with what I got though, and forget about what could have been mine :)

One of my favorite "modern" commem's T$. I think grandpa spoke more in the figurative sense rather than the investment sense. My wife's grandma always told her that your best friend is that dollar bill in your pocket.....;)

That is a very cool commem. T$ Thanks for sharing coins that have been in your family. I like coins with personal stories attached.

No no, my best friends are the dollar bills in my pocket... :p
It is fun to see all the coins, with the stories and documentations he wrote on the 2X2. I will have to post pics of some of them, and include the documentation of the coin too. :)

You know, the photo of this coin wasn't even that hard to take...It was really the set-up, and how I wanted to get the seal and the writing on the box, on the bottom of the picture! That was a nightmare! (But now for next time I know how to do it!)
