See the link below, and I encourage you to report the listings to Ebay:
    http://shop.ebay.com/stephb0612/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340

Edited to add - 7 easy steps fopr reporting:

    1) Click on "report item" beneath the square that says "Other item info" and contains the item number.

    2) Under "reason for report" select "prohibited (banned items)"

    3) Under "detailed reason" select "currency, coins, stamps.."

    4) Under "additional information" select "fraudulently or improperly described currency"

    5) Click on the blue box that says "continue"

    6) Enter the item number(s) in the item number box, with a comma between each item number

    7) In the "brief description" box, write "'counterfeit", or whatever, and if you have additional brief/specific information, add it too.

Thanks for the posting and link, hard to understand that even a novice like me sees it so obvious and why ebay allows (facilitates?) such fraud. And then heritage gets sued and ebay doesn't?

    Strange times.

Look at the uniform color and appearance of the coins - even the ones that have a lot more (or less) detail than others have the same dead look to the surfaces. Also, a number of them have have odd/unusual (apparent) wear patterns, with areas of less detail than they should exhibit.

eBay just is in it for the money...They could care less about the buyer and seller...

Of course EBay is in it for the money. They are a business, and a public company to boot. Don't worry. At the end of the day, Heritage and everyone else is just in it for the money, too.

You can't expect a company like EBay to watch out for you, the coin collector. At the end of the day, there is simply no substitute for acquiring the knowledge needed to watch out for yourself.

Life's a beach, and then you swim. Know what I mean?

Oh I know what you mean, and known it for quite some time... Knowledge is the key, in whatever you are buying

Just had to read this again

    Thanks for the look~see.

At 1st I found the OVB to be pleasing & acceptable. But then these folks have been making available "auction moving" images possible to discern actual details. And the truth can be seen by accuracy when provided.

    Never buy without it.

I feel so happy to know inaccuracies can be now provided by providers.

That backside looks like a backside.

You're looking at the other guy's feedback....the seller that Mark posted. I posted a different crook, and that remark is from his feedback file.

Great thread. Identifying counterfeits is something I need to get much better at. It took awhile to learn grading and spotting cleaned coins. I'm just beginning to tackle counterfeits. The more photos, the better.

Even when they remove it, they leave a note behind saying it has been removed.

The cheeziest counterfeits are not hard to spot. The first thing I look for in a coin produced by the U S Mint, is a clean and sharp delineation between devices and fields...or legends and fields. The fakes are usually kind of blurred. I have seen seated coins that have the field around the stars sunken due to them having been struck into a die that was too soft. Lots of times the stars on those don't even have centers...even on supposed UNCs.

Study real ones....know what they are supposed to look like.

They're getting better now, and I don't claim to be an expert on the subject, but most of them aren't that hard to spot.
