Maybe it's just the image, but I'm not even 100% certain it's genuine. Assuming it is, my grade guess is between AU58 and MS63. Sorry, that's the best I can do with the pictures provided.

I agree with Mark it's hard to tell from the pics, but imo from the pics it looks like the coin has been cleaned. One give away is the dirt that is still left in some of the denticles, the stars, and the date.

My first guess was MS63. It looks legit to me but Mark is a far better judge than me on spotting fakes.

You might be right but it could also be shading from the light. If it was cleaned, it was a very gentle cleaning.

True, another thing though is the color, if the pics are accurate, usually the lack of luster with that really white color is indicative of a cleaning, or an over dipping. But I agree it was probably a light cleaning, or over dipped, because I can't see any hairlines.

Yes, you could be right about the dipping. I have a few morgans that have a similar color. I was hoping that it was just natural coloring but perhaps it is that evil dipping thing. I love the art of coin collecting. It almost makes you question everything; it's like Columbo Mumbo Jumbo!

nice coin, does it have a good cartwheel effect? If so I would give it a ms-62.

Thanks for the heads up, it will give me time to sharpen my axe. [IMG] Lol, but don't get me wrong I wasn't saying you were altering the pics, just that the pics might be off because they were taken from a camera phone.

No doubt in my mind that the coin is genuine, I think the color is off due to maybe an acetone bath? Or like Raider said, could be an over-dipping.
Not a whole lot of luster, and some small spots of wear.
    I'd say AU55

If it hadn't been cleaned, I'd say low MS. But I think that it has been cleaned, so I'm going with AU55. I don't like to give cleaned coins a "slider" status

Novice opinion here but I agree with the cleaning the color/luster is very flat for the condition

That's not a bad image for a phone. My phone won't even come close.
Can you tell us what it looks like in hand. Any luster? I'm thinking it's not as gray as in the image.

Try taking a picture where a lightbulb is pointing down on the coin. That helps me capture luster. But make sure the light isn't reflecting right off the coin directly into the camera lens.
