Please guess the grade of the 1944-D Jefferson Nickel shown below. I have attached a poll for you to cast your vote and you may select up to 3 different things: the numerical grade, Full Steps, and + grade. I am testing out a new method to show the steps in this thread. As always, comments welcome, and please remember to vote in the poll.
MS 65 not FS...steps look broken to me...and a few too many scattered ticks (especially on the reverse) is my reasoning behind the 65
MS 66 not FS i don't think the bottom step is clear enough. The hits above cents keep it at 66. Also, if you applied for it I also think you got a RPM attribution
66+ NFS . . . I think the 2 marks called out by @Morgandude11 are less the obstacle than the slight bridging on step 4.
I think the reverse hurts it a little. MS 65, and doesn't look like FS to me. But I will give it a variety for the MM. Looks like a 1944 D/D FS-501 5C MS
First to guess the assigned grade, and straight out the gate, well done. First to notice the RPM Well done! First to attribute the RPM. I gotta be honest, I was expecting MS65 on this coin. Does anyone know what one of these is worth in MS64? I see a PCGS MS64 on eBay listed for $100, but that is the only info I have. Btw, this is the first variety coin that I have found in the wild and had attributed by a TPG. It has been a long time coming I tell ya!
