I blame it all on Lord M... bought one from him quickly became 5.. probably a few more next month. Decided to give these a thread of their own as now in hand they much nicer pieces then i expected.. I got the 4 for $50 (after S/H) So at $12.50 each I think I stole these. last pic shows no 2 the same thickness
These thick kopeks are some of my favorites. I have a few I still haven't sold. maybe I can get a pic
yeah not overly expensive and none I've seen actualy what you would call a "clean" coin.. lots of poor strikes, mishaped and cracked planchetes, cuds and what looks like lamination issues. Even the few certified mint state ones I have seen so far show some of these faults.
Reticulated / Inverse Knurling. Thanks. I think it's easier to remember "reticulated." Types of edges I now know: Plain, Reeded, Angular Reeded, Ruptured, Lettered, and Reticulated.
I like these too. I've been slowly building a date set, not going to get into the mint mark varieties, I've currently got 19 or 20 of them. They made them for 38 years.
