Nice! The lettering is quite clear for such a small coin.

Very cool coin, I'd have more Islamic coins if I understood the language!

Neat coin. Do you have a translation of the legends? Probably the kalima, I suppose.

Sometimes I don't see the obvious, where is the date on the coin?

I don't think it is there, I think they have ruler names and that's how they are dated. Maybe I am wrong, but I don't see any numerals here.

That is why I asked. I do not see any familiar numbers. I thought they might have been a little different 1400 years ago.

Are you sure about the attribution ? On the right side i'd read the date as "100".
(It's in words, in the margin around one o'clock)

Yes, the date is AH 100. Reading anticlockwise from reverse top: bism Allah duriba hadha al-dinar sanat mi'at ("in the name of Allah was struck this dinar [in the] year [one] hundred").

    https://thetyrantcollection.com/portfolio-item/umayyad-caliphate-gold-dinar-ah-100/

The obverse has the Kalima (or Shahada) at center: "There is no god but Allah alone. There are no others with Him".

In the obverse margin is a verse from the Qur'an (9:33): "Muhammad is the apostle of Allah who sent him with guidance and a religion of truth in order that he might cause it to shine above [existing] religion".

At reverse center is Qur'an 112: "Allah is One. Allah is the Eternal. He does not beget nor is He begotten, and there is none equal to Him".

Not uncommon. Some time ago, I was asked to catalog a small Islamic collection that had previously been certified by one of the major TPGs. Most of the coins had the dates listed incorrectly on the holders.
