Hello again. I noticed an anomally on the edge of the tail feather nearest the left leg of the eagle. I've included a similar photo of a 1979-D without the anomally. Is this an example of the die wearing out? Thank you.

It could be machine doubling, but I'd like to see an image of the whole reverse, please.

What "anomaly" do you see? Explain, please.

I think he is referring to the tailfeather on the far left. It looks like it is either machine doubling or just plain old PMD.

I see that also, however, I hate trying to figure out what someone means by vague words, eg. anomaly.

What I hate just as much as a vague comment is someone who posts in the wee hours of the AM and doesn't bother answering until they return home in the late hours of the evening. This happens a lot!

It could be PMD, took a hit or a partial filled die. Just guessing.

Bad photo! I'm going with PMD. Note the continuation of the mark across the tip of the next feather in your first photo.

But for some people it may be difficult or impossible to answer when they aren't there.

That is exactly my point! Why don't they wait to post their thread when they will be available to answer questions? Why is it so god-awful important that they must post it that moment?

Hey I post and my brain isn’t even up yet. Selfish. My brain is complex. It always wants information no matter if I receive it later. This brain of mine is mostly empty
