No different than going to an arcade that only accepts their proprietary gaming tokens. You can use them there, at their establishment but nowhere else. Same as Disney dollars.
just like Disney merchandise, Disney dollars are widely collected by just about every realm of society, it’s not restricted to a certain age group or society, like with most legal tenders and other paper money, I also collect and sale military payment certificates which has a very narrow market which only a small amount of people collect, so it’s a pretty huge difference to say the least.
There are many forms of paper money that have absolutely no value atleast with Disney dollars I can go get a steak in the park..LOL
Anyone bought, sold, or kept any of the old/original predecessor to D-Dollars, the D-Land E-tickets/E-ticket books...or know what the "E-tickets"..."E-ticket rides" were...?
opening day medallion for Disney World 1971 would have a similar value to a Recreation dollar also from 1971, but here again its only worth what someone is going to give you for it, thats the bottom line.
My mom is crazy about Mickey, I'm surprised she doesnt have a single Mickey Disney dollar in her mouse collection. I may have to get her some for her birthday
