got this at a another local antique shop for 3$. didnt really know anything about it till i found this link http://www.coinlink.com/CoinGuide/commemoratives/1892-1893-columbian-exposition-half-dollar/ anyone care to grade/price this for me?
melted it's worth around $6 in silver so I think you did very good!! hard to tell from the photo, but it looks to maybe be an AU coin maximum. Probably worth $15 or so??
You should be sure to visit that shop often, because that is a really good price for any silver half dollar.
i do but he doesnt get coins very often. his usual prices are 2.50/quarter 5/half 15/morgan/peace dollar. i really wanna kick myself because last time i went a month ago or whatever he had about a dozen new morgans in these like gift envelope things. none were in pristine shape or CC but i went back today almost all of those were gone but i did buy 13 other halves.
That is a great buy. In EF, I've seen them on Ebay for 12 bucks and up. Yours apears to be in better shape than that.
