1986 D Penny

Trying to figure out what’s going on with the mint mark. Looked on error-ref and can’t seem to find it. Any ideas?

Not an error.

 

That’s not an error, the plating just buckled when it was struck.

 

Many Zincolns have the same problem you might find on a car. Rust starts underneath the paint and pops through.

 

Like the English say " It's gone bloody bonkers ! "
Looks like the beginning of " Zinc rot" .

 

Its a zilincon after all.

 

Not an error but a plating bubble on a copper coated zinc planchet.
