Hey Guy's...not too long ago I stated that I was done for the year!
Well guess what? You guessed it... I fell off the Wagon and had to take this note that was offered to me today.
When I saw this I just simply said in 1 sec after evaluating it, SOLD!

Take a look at the low SN on this $5 Series 1918 Note and you will instantly know why I bought it. So break out the [IMG] and give me my punishment as I think a little blood is worth this note!!
    Urban called it...now did'nt he?

Thank You BN...I appreciate it very much!

    Enjoy this rarity my friends...

In case any of you are wondering what hectographic means:
Processes which are directed to the production of a base having a coating thereon for receiving the negative design in copy printing, usually by imbibition from an inked positive, and from which negative, positive copies may be made.

Out of curiosity, how high do the SNs go on that series?

I've fallen off too many wagons in my life to criticize you for this one!

Hontani..from what I find in my source books.. 1,600,000 notes printed.
The signatures on the Series 1918 are the true sigs of the Bank Officers instead of the hectrographic process of the earlier Series.

The Obligation on the reverse is almost identical to to those of the contemporary NBNs.

I don't really collect notes but I'd be tempted to fall off the wagon for that one. It's a beauty.

Another great note RickieB! But you're right here comes the criticism ... I think it's on the wagon, not off the wagon :goofer: On the Wagon, Off the Wagon

LOL we have a saying around here. When someone says they are not going to buy something, then they do we call it a RickieB! Eg. I thought he was doing well at the show like he said. He walked right passed all kinds of great stuff. Then he turned around and RickieB'd it. J/K I am always glad to see the notes you obtain and now I can appreciate them even more because I know some history.

They wrapped the D shouldn't that be 169AD or Doug's birth year?? Just kidding. Maybe he will miss this one.

That is one nice note that you have there. Now how come on the blow-up there is some red that I don't see on the complete note? Just curious.

    Thanks

I think it is best not to share your goals of not spending more on your collection etc, from personal experience I have found that everytime I have done that I fell off of the wagon - sometimes big time.

Now, for the razzing you expected: "Your self control...eh...leaves something to be desired but you have fine tastes." :D ;) :kewl:
