Sorry about posting the same links twice, just an oversight. Right now my computer is giving me a run around and plenty of stress, I can't seem to bring up word. All the pics that I've posted on this tread have been of the counterfeit nickel I bought from the seller.

I bought it, rec'd it, realized it was a fake and took pics. Then I took it over to Coins, Currency & Collectibles in Elk Grove California. I am not here to find out whether anyone agrees with me about the fake coin I bought or the listing he currently has of a coin I believe to be fake. You see in my first question it doesn't say who thinks this is a fake? I asked about feedback and now I have my answer.

BTW, I fixed the links. I still can't understand why nobody can tell this pic is of a fake buffalo nickel???

I answered your question already, nobody told me his current listing is of a fake coin. I thought that was already answered. I respect everyone on this threads opinion, but I will agree to disagree on this issue. I didn't ask for assistance or anyone's opinion on whether the listing was fake. thank you

Sorry about that Mark, I didn't even see this posting. The only pics I posted are pics of the fake coin I rec'd. You could be right and I could be wrong, I don't have a problem being wrong I have admitted being wrong if I was. Yes I have to agree that a couple of my posts have been confusing b/c I posted the identical links. At least everything is up there now though. :hail:

Both nickels look genuine to me. Based on the seller's pics, both coins appear to be toned. Your pic does not show any toning, but that may just be a difference in lighting.

I would be surprised if someone would take the time, effort and expense to conterfeit a $20 coin too. But I may be wrong here.

Also, the rim on the reverse on the coin currently for sale looks a little odd (between the tail and hind legs). But still doesn't look fake.

Even if you didn't ask what others think about the listing, when you start a thread that includes "Fake Alert!" in the title, if readers think you are mistaken, you should expect to hear so. Keep in mind that you might be unfairly publicly condemning the seller's listing.

You are absolutely correct. I would never want to publicly condemn a seller ever, and this has been most difficult for me. I posted on 10-25, what was going on but I didn't include the sellers info at that time. The link is below. It's possible that I am wrong about the sellers current listing. However I did include that it was only my opinion. However it turns out, I can't believe that some of the posters on this thread are saying now that both coins look legit. Expecially since I've already made it clear that I had the coin I bought from the seller as verified as a fake and received a refund.

I have edited almost all posts by me on this thread as it wasn't my intent to make any errors but I've had alot going on today with this computus interruptus! = computer

We on the forum can only go by the images provided. And based on that, nothing said counterfeit to me.

You say verified - but by someone who no one here apparently knows from Adam. I have seen more than one "store owner" that I could teach everything to and, beyond Lincolns, I only consider myself as having passing familiarity.

Then you say "received a refund" as though that means the seller agrees with you. Any descent seller should give you a refund even if he believes 100% that the coin is real. That is just good business.

So, pardon my ignorance, but right now the best info I have are the pictures (and Marks interpretation there of).

You know it's very difficult because I knew the nickel I got was fake the moment I looked at it. And yes I realize nobody knows the coin store I took it to but I really can't help that. At any rate, this is gonna be one of those posts that I started that I can't do anything about until it leaves. In other words, I wish I would have taken my time posting it, and I'll be glad when it disappears into the timeline.

== Personally I hope there are other forum members with opinions on fake buffalo nickels. The coin I bought was fake. Absolutely fake, verified by coin store owner. I went and edited almost everything I posted so that it would be better understood.
Below is the link to a fake coin I bought on ebay, took some pics of and took it to the coin store to get their opinion. The owner said it was a casted coin=counterfeit.

Honestly I hope someone can tell that the top two pics I am posting now are of the fake coin. The last coin is the same as the second coin, bigger pic. The 3 & 4th pics are of the current listing that I was referring to. It's very unfortunate, I have no more to say but if one of y'all can tell this coin is a fake, good for you... respond if you want.

I'm still amazed that this coin was certified a fake. It causes me grief because I just bought a 1913ST1 two weeks ago on ebay. I thought that I could tell a fake Buffalo, but I'm starting to question my abilities. This is a brilliant fake based on the photos.

    Phil,
I took a look at your coin thru the link you left and yours is real. You don't have to worry about your nickel. enjoy :thumb:

Looks like no cast coin I've ever seen. I'd like to have seen the edges of it. Even injection molding wouldn't look as clean as that coin.

    coleguy,
Are you a buffalo nickel person? Do you really think that the back of this coin is real?

Does anyone else think that this pic is of a real buffalo nickel?

It looks real to me. If it is fake, I would have paid $20 for a fake that well done.

I see no indications the coin you believe is fake, is. No tooling marks, correct die positions etc. Who told you it was fake and why?

The back of that nickel is the one I paid $20 and change for and it turned out to be a fake.

On this link I am leaving you will see a good example of a real nickel and a fake nickel. Just open the link and look at both nickels.
