So I posted about buying a random lot of (mostly) foreign coins on Ebay and got many responses from "what a deal" to "you're buying junk". I paid $56.00 overall with shipping included in that.

I buy a lot of "bad" lots. Blurry pictures, incomplete and laughably incorrect lots by sellers and general lack of any previous coin auction is what I look for. Those lots are usually best deals to be had and generally end up bringing in the best random stuff.

So I made a list of the lot as I sorted it and have the results for all of you wonderful guys and gals. Anytime a coin is listed more then once, it's a multiple in the lot. Anything with a large "X" after it denotes a coin I already have, thus it's a double.

Silver content is noted for value determinaton.

Now, let's see if anyone wants the doubles and move them into my "trade" list!

Well - I am a firm believer that if you are happy with the lot then that is all that counts. While I might not bid on it(or a lot of coins) I would not call it junk. I see lots of silver and it looks like you got a wide variety. If nothing else these lots can be fun searching. I keep looking, but have not found one to bid on yet.

While I wouldn't be interested in most of the stuff there, its still a good start for a beginner. Nothing too uncommon, but very interesting coins. I love "beginner" coins, its what keeps the hobby from stagnating for me. There's always some interesting new frontier to start on.

Looks like quite a bit of fun and a decent amount of silver for $56 :thumb:

Is the the same group of coins you mentioned in your other eBay thread where shipping was taking forever???

Let me be the bearer of good news...

Your 1924 is worth a minimum of 10 dollars. (semi Key of the series)
Your 1938, assuming your UNC. observation is correct is 3 dollars
Your 1887 5 cent in the worst condition possible is still worth 10 - 15
your 1894 10 cent in the worst condition is still worth 30 bucks...
(post pictures, there are varietys, and not to mention in a "Fine" grade, it is valued at over 100$)
I'd say you did good Sasha.

Sounds like you did good girl!!! :thumb:

Be on the lookout for any varieties. Many times when people unload bulk stuff like this, they don't bother to look for the varieties which could be worth some bucks.

Just have fun. Sounds like you did. Take care.
