Im only going to collect the state park quarters if I can get them at the bank for face value, the coins for next year should be cool especially the new lincoln penny

I'm always ready for something new, a new year means a larger body of coins the world over to think about, talk about and collect... or pursue! However, there's no year of any coin issue that I'll ever tire of. 2009 is a great year for what was and what wasn't in US coins and series. There was plenty of material this year for collectors to hash about and journalist to hype. I think it will be a bittersweet and possibly fond year for many when at a later date reflecting on the zanny-ness of a collecting lifetime. :eek:hya:

With next year being the first I will stock up on a lot of the State Parks , only wish I'd done the same with the state quarters :goof:

Ditto Krispy there were so many great new coins but then not ASE & AGE proofs , definitely a mixed bag , but I guess thats what makes life a challange or should I say coin collecting :eek:dd::hatch:there will be a lot to reflect back upon :smile

The one thing I've learned in this life is don't make the same mistake twice :smile

I think its likely that many people are thinking similarly and will try to stock up on the 1st year of the NP series, thereby creating an oversupply of stashed coins. My 2¢.

Which explains why there are so many nice 1909's around. :smile

True, the first and last years of a design almost always have better than average hoarded specimens…the trick is the middle years of the design.

Let's hope some of those are in this bank box of cents I'm about to search!

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. Wouldn’t be awesome to find an 1877 Indian Head or a 1955 double die error. One can dream, right?

I'm with the sick and tired of this all with the Lincoln Cents stuff. At coin shows they are selling for $1 each already. And the prices of rolls of them is ridiculous. I think I'll stop collecting those things due to all this hype about them.

Its definitely been an unusual year of the Lincoln coins, I can't help to wonder if we'll see an exciting year in 2010 when the State Parks hit the scene

Good luck the only coin I've run accross was a new Canadian penny , which is unusual in my neck of the woods:smile

It definitely enlarged my collection of Lincoln cents , which to me was a good thing, the more the merrier , that why I love collecting coins, the vast array of coins out there is astounding :thumb:
