What do you recommend here? Whitman Classic albums? Dansco albums? Littleton? Whitman? Intercept albums?

    This is for quarters only.

I also have an old mercury dime book that needs upgrading. Many of my coins, excluding quarters, are in mylar saflips so those would need some sort of album that holds mylar flips and cardboard mylar coin holders.

If nothing, else for the random world coins, I need a decent box that holds around 200-300 coins in mylar. I was surprised that I really have nothing to use that seals airtight in the house. Online they do make decent boxes but they hold 20-40 at the most.

If you’re going the album route Dansco. Flips and cardboard you need basically card holder style sheets to put in binders and albums aren’t made for those.

What are Intercepts like? Do they work as they say they do because they are made in China. I'll look at Dansco.

I agree with @baseball21. Embarrassingly I have five state quarter sets each in different books. The Dansco set really looks sharp. It is actually two books that includes proofs and silver strikes so it can get a bit expensive to complete, but sure stands out.

I really like the Littleton folder for quarters, it's a little different than traditional folders in that its a dark green with gold lettering on the face, I think it looks pretty sharp... just my opinion tho :)

hey Howard Ryan welcome to CT. i have some Littleton folders im using for a Lincoln collection. i like them mainly for the cost. its really up to you and the what can you afford, you know. if my collection was just basic MS60 quarters then try Littleton. if your coins look more than MS60 then upgrade to a Dansco album. here's a link to a website that compares all the major brands,https://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/articles/selecting-a-coin-album.html

    hope the info helps man

I have my state quarters in a brown Dansco and national parks in a blue Whitman album
Same thing and function really but the Whitman was cheaper.
Either album is just P+D and no proofs. Or S circulation strikes in the case of the national parks but they do make albums to do that.

Caps albums are nice also, probably the nicest but also the most expensive.

For your world coins... I dunno maybe something like this I suppose.

My problem with albums is that they decide for you what to collect.
Loose leaf binders that hold "mylar flips and cardboard mylar coin holders" allow you to tailor your collection to your wants and needs.

And my non-US coin collection changes so often that the box that holds 2x2's is my choice.

Always had problems with fit (coins into slots) in the Littleton albums, but that was years ago and they may have changed/improved. Others using them didn't mention this so maybe OK. Was always Whitman man and still use their 2 x 2 square clear plastic snap-tites for certain coins...they can still rattle a bit but I don't travel or shake things up too much/often...also their round capsules with the black retainer rings...but confess I don't know anymore if some/all of their products are made in China...? Which albums are made in U.S., if any...?

I prefer Dansco, but unless you don't mind second hand, I find most of the Dansco albums are out of stock.

For your 2X2 flips, IMHO Dansco 7000 album is the way to go, with the protective slipcase. Excellent protection. 12 inserts per page, and 6 or 7 pages per album.

I completely agree. I have raw odds and ends in that album. I have two now and need to get three more, maybe four. They look good and are a great way to store any coins you want. For any collections, I will go to Dansco albums. Granted, many of them aren't even made anymore (Australia, among others) but with a bit of luck, you can find them in excellent condition online.

Also, I do get the slipcovers for each album.

Doesn't this Dansco album have PVC in it? What would be better? Getting the state quarter album or just putting all my coins in saflips and then in an album tgat holds saflips?

I'm not aware of any Dansco album having pvc.

I remember a post on here awhile back saying that a rep said that these albums, at least the older ones, had residual PVC.

Moreover, I have my quarters in an album right now that is broken. If I have to take them out anyway I mine as well put them in saflips or card board flips w/ mylar and then get something like this to hold them:

^ ^ ^ Is this brand decent? What other brands sell custom album 2x2 pages like this? Is there an industry standard brand?

I really like Dansco albums. I'm not aware of any pvc in them. They are very hard to find right now because of Covid. They are made in Washington state and the last I heard they still aren't working yet. Therefore, the ones available are more expensive than usual if you can find them. I've been looking for a couple for several months with no luck.
I bought one Littleton album for the Innovation dollars. I don't like it at all. But it'll do until I can get a Dansco. I do like the Littleton folders, though.
