I like the look of your coin.... it obviously changed hands a LOT in the old West.
I think this one would pair nicely with it, in terms of wear and color:

I think you miss the point. Updating that Mint would loose it's nostalgic profile. It should be just reinstated as is. Even if only a few coins here and there. And as for the ones shown here so far I really like the older, worn looking ones. There is just something about a CC Minted coin that should be old looking. Old CC coins to me should look old.

There's some collectors on this forum who have some great looking coins and GSA or their Morgan CC's are some of the best I've seen anywhere. Anyways, I've been wanting to get a GSA Morgan since back when I started this thread. That was the end of October 2009. Last week was the bi-annual coin show again and I was ready this time, well somewhat ready. I always feel like this coin show is the best because after all, it is my coin club who benefits from it and I can actually help out there although this time I passed b/c I had prior commitments. I walked into the show and I walked up to one of the dealers who I know and I've bought from in the past. He was all set up and we got to talking. He sold me a nice Peace Dollar and I said what I really want is a GSA. Well the rest is history, I didn’t get the year I wanted but I can live with that because now I have a GSA. Someday all of these GSA’a are gonna be graded or out of their GSA packaging, maybe not in my lifetime but maybe. Tons of these have been graded and taken out of the government issued plastic case. It was important for me to get the plastic holder and the certificate. I didn’t want to buy a graded one, but that’s just me. Anyways here some pics. This coin is hard to photograph, especially since I'm using crappy lighting. :D Post a pic of a CC or something related if ya want. :D :thumb:

All the above coins have character worn all over them. they look better to me now than when they were fresh from the mint. Man, if coins could only talk ---- on command of course. Very nice pictures everyone. Really enjoy seeing these ' CC's '.

CC is a cool mintmark and these well worn pieces are wonderful; especially the Morgan that started this thread. The below is a cool coin, in my opinion, since it was demonetized (and subsequently monetized) by the US government, is a CC mintmark and has more than 30 chopmarks.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Very nice coins! The only CC I've ever owned was a 1890 CC Morgan in G, that I got at a pawn shop for $10 in high school (about 2001) (cherrypicked it out of a bin of similarly priced morgans). I later sold it at a show for $70.

I really like the circ. example on the O.P., but I also appreciate the beauty of the uncirc CC Morgans-- toned and untoned-- they are generally well struck with great luster. The whole story of the GSA release is interesting, too. I have 4 common-date uncirc CC Morgans, and just like to admire them every so often, the way the light rolls off of them. But I'm partial to the Trade Dollars, with all the history behind them. This one isn't as well travelled as Tom B's-- not many are-- but it sure looks like it was put away for a very long time after a short stint in circulation:

And this is my type coin for a DMPL example, it just happened to be from the right mint:
