hey guys, how often do you find silver coins in circulation? personally, I have only found a mercury dime and a 1943 S silver nickel in circulation. Does anybody here have better luck????
I got a mercury dime (forget what year) in my change at New Jersey grocery store a few months ago. That's about it.
I average finding 1 or 2 silver alloy nickels in every box ($100.00) I search. I understand that searching Kennedy halves, from the bank, can also yield good results.
well, a friend of mine found about 25 ounces of silver in circulation (mostly peace dollars) btw (his cointalk name is going to be mercury)
I have found a few here and there. Most of the bank tellers will pull them out for us. Most are very worn Washingtons, and the occasional Roosie.
I find about one every other year. Last year I found a 1962 Roosie. I think I have found about 3 1964 quarters over the past decade. I still find wheat cents and old Jeffs though. I usually find about a half dozen each of wheats and Jeffs in the 1940s each year, just from casual looking though change.
Hi, well I found a 1936 Buffalo in a McDonalds change a few years back...ohh and in very nice condition....everything readable etc.. Cheers!, Ivan
I was at a bank paying my Visa and I noticed silver rims in the half dolloars that the teller had on the coin holder thingie... I bought all the halves and made out with three circulated Walkers from the 40s.... I was thrilled!
I was given 2 '64 Kens and 1 walker in the past week from cashiers who I supply triple shot expressos to.
