Baby Bond

    It appears as though the $5 sheets of four may have circulated as a lot also, because quite a few of them have some of the coupons detached - but then maybe they were removed by the state after a certain date - who knows?

    They are fascinating all the while, bond, paper money, whatever or however you refer to them. And easily collectable because there are large numbers of them around - even sheets are still available.

    The first time I saw these was many years ago at the US Mint museum in New Orleans. I bought a couple of sheets at the gift shop there.

    Try Ebay. Do a search for Baby Bond in the US Paper Money category. There are some listed including a couple cheap BIN.

    Hey I found this post when searching information on a baby bond that i have. This is the only information i have found. What do you know about it? Mine looks like yours so...

    I picked up a pair that arrived the other day. Apparently, the state treasurer got in trouble with the law for printing some on the side (at least $84,000 worth were charged against him at his embezzelement case after he hoofed it to Brazil).

    I wonder how one discerns the duplicate notes from the legitimate ones?

    I remember one advertiser used to have these regularly listed on the back page ads of Coin World and Numismatic News in the 80s and maybe early 90s.
