Okay..I picked this and a bunch of other coins (which I will put up in the open forum) for $35. I mainly just wanted this one out of the lot because I need it for my essay.

I'm guessing VG-10ish..if sent to NGC or PCGS?

How'd I do with the purchase, and what do you think it grades?

I'll have to agree with VG. The price is right.

Not a bad lot for $35. I think you did pretty good and I agree vg on the large cent. I can't see the surfaces real good, but assume no problems.

It looks like a nice large cent, VG is about right.

I agree with the VG, just would be better is it weren't so dark. You did good for the price paid I think, I'd go for that lot for that price too.

    Thanks guys. So VG-10 then.

Anyone have the graysheet price for this? My Blackbook (yes Blackbook) says $25, but what should I expect to easily get out of this one coin?

    $20ish? or lower?

    Depends who you're selling to. Retail=20, Wholesale=10-15.

Look at the coin in the photo in post #4 (as opposed to the photo in post #1), and tell me if you still feel that way. ;) :D

Said another way, if the coin is dark and has hard surfaces as it appears in the first photo, I might agree with you, but I suspect it's closer to the 2nd photo, and I don't agree.

    Thoughts?

I should've noted, the first picture is a totally different coin than the one in pst four. The OP was the best coin in the lot, and I scanned the rest of it. So, two large cents :D

    Oh, I'm so confused. :crying:

Then I agree with 900fine that my prior estimate was low, that coins probably worth $30ish retail and $15ish wholesale.
