Not sure if anyone else has asked this yet or not, but are the 2009 US Mint Uncirculated sets considered to have a satin finish like the ones from 2005-2008? More importantly does this include the Lincoln pennies (I know they are the same composition as the 1909 Lincolns and the Mint used a "anti-tarnish treatment" on them). Thanks for your help!

Don't know about the '09's but the first year clad unc. satin's didn't look that much different from the regular issue coins. The pennies showed it the best!

Saw this in todays Numismatic News: I can't believe congress got time for this and can't extend unemployment benefits(well maybe I do)

Mint set sales rose by just 22,613 to 489,094, so the rush to buy what some collectors think will be a potentially scarce set seems to be over. News that Congress authorized extended sales for sets that contain the 95 percent copper cent until June 30, 2010, also might suppress speculative purchases.

Now your going to make me go look at mine. I always order from 10 to15 sets for Christmas presents and if any left over I keep. Usually keep one anyway. Never open them. Now you made me curious and will probably open one.

that's mean extended sales to june 30 next year also apply to clad proof set, silver proof set, and lincoln proof set. that's bad.

I've never bought Mint sets before...just silver proof sets. However, this year I bought a 20 set subscription. I received the sets last week and love them!

In the one set I opened, there were a few coins with contact marks, but the majority were pristeen coins with a beautiful satin finish. I like them so much, I'm thinking about buying another 20 sets. They may not be great rarities...but I buy what I like and I like these sets.
