can you help me with this? Do I have a small date and a large date here? If so which one is the valuable one? I was checking a roll and found what I think are small and large dates.I found 10 coins. there are 5 1960 and 5 1960-d. I can use your help with this one. thanks--BILL
Yes, you appear to have a 1960 and 1960-D SD and LD. The "valuable" one if the 1960 SD. It is worth about $3 in full red uncirculated.
I looked , do you think I have the 1960 small date here? need a second opinion- thanks--BILL thanks was typing and you beat me to it
look at the yellow line compared to the first picture. see the different angle? thats what I was going by
At first I thought the last one was small, especially by examining the thumbnail, but after a second viewing I agree with fishaddicit that it's a large...
The angle on the tail of the 6, the angle on the tail of the 9, and the 0. All three say it is a small date.
I drew out parallel lines on key points in the last picture. It is a large date. The 9 is too high, the inner loop of the 6 is too low and the inner loop of the 9 is too high when you follow the lines (see my post below for comparison pics).
The picture is a little small to be certain. I did think at first glance it was SD. Anyway, here's a quick collage of a SD and LD and why I made the comments in the above post...
