does anyone know if teletrade is running any specials for 1st time bidders?
or where such information would be located at?

The only specials that I am aware that Teletrade offers for new members is that they give away 1000 free gold reward points. I don't know if this is a standard gift or if the specials are only available periodically, but I have seen this offer very recently. The gold rewards points can be used towards free coins and other gifts. I would just keep an eye out on their site and watch for any specials they advertise.

at one point they were doing a $100 off purchases for 1st time buyers but I missed out on that so I'm hoping someone knows if they are doing it again or soon.

I got in on the $100 off deal! That was a great deal during September, as long as you bid accordingly. I was able to latch onto an 1885 nickel in VG details (NCS) for only $140 after the deal. One happy camper here.

bleh, i hate teletrade. i'm more of a heritage guy.. i just don't like the interface they have and i can rarely spot better deals on them than heritage.

    good luck though.

Teletrade is a streamlined, no frills experience. I have gotten quite used to their clunky interface but at first it was a little put-offish to me too. I wish they could take better pics on some coins and I wish they had HA's supersized pics because some things are too hard to read on TT pics which are not a problem on HA pics, although you have to get used to HA's style of photography as being discussed in another thread on the coin 'industry' recently. I use HA as a reference tool but due to their high fees for New York State residents I do not bid with HA.

Alex, I think you should just stay tuned with TT and even perhaps write to ask them if they have any upcoming promotions. Over the summer they also had a deal for selling and remember they will have your non-graded coins graded prior to sale, if you are selling via TT. They are a great outfit, been around since before the internet coin buying age and seem to be very fine folks. They send thank you cards in the mail occassionally and extend a customer service hand of assistance that I appreciate.

My main wish for improvement at TT would be that they ship coins by expedited service as it seems to take me a week to get my coins from them, California to New York. I'd also prefer a cheaper shipping rate for orders under $50 since you can pick up a lot of moderns for much less, but the shipping kills if you don't buy a few things. Also would like a tracking number from them once they ship so I can monitor the parcel progress, but that's getting obsessive and picky.:smile
