Its wonderful getting back into coins again. I recently got the book "Strike it rich with pocket change" and am looking at all my lincoln cents 1998 to present for lincoln "doubled columns" on the reverse. I also got another counterfeit gold book with it. I recently sold a coin on ebay, a PCGS AU58 queen victoria 'old head' sovereign for $280. Shipped it out today. I got the tracking number, however I'm not sure how to add it so the buyer can look at it? The buyer paid immediatley, however the $280 (minus fees) is being on hold until the buyer is satisfied. In other words, I don't have the money. It's paypal's way of protecting both the buyer and seller. I wanted to also add the tracking number on proof that it was delivered so the money won't be held, a way for paypal to track it. When I select the coin that was sold, a form comes up but there's no way to input the tracking number. It's just a bunch of highlighted words. I'm going to meet my coin friend/mentor dennis in 2 days and I'm going to start selling some error coins on ebay as to gain knowledge in the subject. I'm not sure if I should post the auction because last time I posted a thread like this it got deleted. Can't find it.
You can post one auction per week in the Auction forum, where Coin Talkers can respond by email or PM, not in the posting thread. Check the Rules.
Go to the item in E-Bay, pick "Contact Seller", and send them a message with the tracking number. Also... go to USPS.COM and use the "track and confirm" feature. Just put the tracking number in there and hit "go". The next page gives you the option of having it e-mail you every time there's a status change (i.e. delivered).
Be careful with ebay...they will eat you up with there fee's. Ebay listing, final, paypal. There are other sites to start with..coinbug ect..you will also find that alot of people are giving up on ebay. I wish you luck
Yep, already did that. I figure if I start dealing in coins and selling on ebay I will learn alot and then eventually when I make enough money I can go to the major coin shows and sell. The best part is I have a friend/mentor who deals in errors and is willing to help.
Maybe I will have the distinct honor of winning one of your coins. Almost everyone will disagree but I LOVE EBAY!!
