Hi Everyone. I just found this one in a roll I searched and it looks like a Mint Error but I'm not sure.. there is no rough edges that would make it look cut. Just wondering if this is a common thing. Thanks.

Kool... I'll add it to the collection. I also found a 1921 S in great shape.

Nevermind, Post Mint Damage, right? I don't think it is since you can see the outline of Lincoln's shoulder a bit in the cut.

It looks like either post-mint or it was partially struck by a capped die. Hard to tell. The shiny edge points to damage, good close-ups might help determination.

Looks like in the 2nd and 3rd pic the rim around the gouge is pushed out some. If the coin were in the collar this couldn't have happened. PMD in my opinion.

I vote post mint also. In the first photo the metal against Lincoln's shoulder, the copper vertical edge looks clean and untoned. My thoughts that if it happened at the mint in 1975 that all of the metal edges would share the same tone/color. Every other surface seems to have toned the same why not that one, if it happened 33 years ago? Plus I don't know how that damage would happen at the mint. JMO

I guess it is either PMD or a partial brokerage strike, but lean toward PMD. I really can't tell from the photos.

    I think not PMD.

Looks like another coin was partillay in the chamber when struck, so partial brockage?

    Mike, where are you?

    Prove me right, please!

    Email or PM Mike D.
I doubt there will be any need to send it somewhere. You may have to post bigger pics though.
