I was coming back from business in Nashville and was sitting on the plane to LAX when this nice woman saw my red book and we started talking about coins.. She had her son with her and they were going to Disney land from Perth, Australia. She told me she had with her some coins her father gave me so she eventually went to her bag to show them to me. Once she showed me the coins, I red booked them and they were all common years. She had some nice Walking libs(1942/46), Indian head penny, buffalo(bison) nickel, barber half, and some others. It was just a nice feeling getting to help someone who knew nothing about coins out even though there weren't any gems. Just wanted to report my experience, it was a very valuable one.
Well since they were minted in the country she was visiting, I'll bet she was hoping to at least find the value if not to sell them.
Both wrong Her father lived in Chattanooga, TN gave her the coins for her kids so that's where they were coming from to go to Disney Land.
I brought my Eagle coin album on board and boy, was that such a conversation piece! Everyone has a "rare" coin stashed away these days I come to find out.. Once I showed some people the 95-W Silver Eagle they really looked over it until I whispered the price..
