Not that I am going "Darkside" or anything like that..but I have recently seen a picture of a 1800 Piedmont Republic (Italy) gold coin. I have done searches for this coin with no luck in finding it. I am sure that Doug will come along soon and lead me to it.. but I was wondering if any of you "Darkside" Collectors have this coin? If so would you please be as kind to post a pic? Thanks in advance... RickieB
Sure it exist - I think they struck about 2800 of them. Finding one to buy is not so easy but it can be done of you know who to ask Meanwhile - here is a small pic at least Click Here (upper left corner ) Clark had one, but he sold it.
Doug, Thanks.. I found that picture as well but thought it was not the real deal since I could not find any other listings on this coin. I must admit that it is one of the most beautiful coins I have seen. Do you have a link to the reverse? Much thanks.. RickieB

so, a litttel off subject, but what is meant by "dark side" I actually have a nice little collection of world gold coins... do i need to be worried? :0
why exactly? I have a very nice cada, mexico, etc. set of coins. i am very proud of them I am also collecting ALL of the out of print dansco albums i can find, especially the worl type sets. I already have a very nice canada elizabeth 2 type set going as well as a panama and australia. they look very nice next to my us type set album I am still looking for the mexico type set album ;( I love foreign coins! and us as well!
It's a secret. So don't tell anyone... see before you know it, you'll look at all those boring old US coins and wondering what your collection would look like if they were all replaced with new, exciting world coins... I have a friend that had something like this - I will ask him where he got it, next time I see him.
awsome! I have been hunting auction sites and coin shows... they are hard to find. I had to pay 40 bucks to get the panama album. the out of print albums are turning into a collection in themselves and i am having SO MUCH FUN collecting world coins, especially type sets. I got very bored with collecting the same coin a hundred times. I have a very nice set of bufffalo nickles, only missing a handful ( the super keys ). i like them, but at a glance they all look almost exactly the same. type sets are my passion, even US type sets
