1960d small date

    I believe this is a small date 1960d. From what I have read, these are quite common. My question... are there (2) d's on this, or is the d machine doubled?

    It's a little hard to tell with the pictures you've supplied. A closer shot of the MM with lighting from all sides (especially the west side) will determine if it's a RPM but it is a small date.

    It is a small date and it looks like Md on the mm.

    Here is a better picture (I hope). I tried to make sure the light was coming from the west. The arrows show what I think is another d.

    I don't see any splits in the serif on the 'D', so I'm going to say die wear or reflexions on the MM and the date.

    It's hard to tell from the pictures. What you think you are seeing is a partial punch south where the top of an extra "D" is showing, but it could be a few die gouges, MD or one of many other die anomalies and not a RPM.

    I need a better picture to know for sure.

    ...You can go through all the small date listing on Coppercoins.com and see if one matches up. Other than that not sure what else to say.

    Hmmmmmmmmm....Hard to tell, especially with very,small pictures.
