Fake purchase question?

    Yes absolutely!! I appreciate the heads up, it's always good to follow the golden rule. Especially if you can't see the person you're dealing with. :D

    On a brighter side, yesterday I also got this gem of a 1966 blue toned nickel delivered for $5 dollars and change. Yes from fleabay. Beauty!!

    There is another route you can go. The last I remember Ebay gives you approx. 90 days to leave feedback. I'd send the coin back stating its problem and wait a couple of months to see if the seller puts it up for auction again. If so, ding him heavy with a negative.
