Just got 5 rolls of halves from my credit union!!! Sadly nothing. :desk: Anyway I found a couple (new ish (late 1990's and 2000's) BU halves that I decided to keep. (good idea or worthless?) What made me wonder was that 4 out of the 5 rolls had halves that had a red sharpie? line drawn over the face or over the seal; so my question it why? Bored tellers? Or evil brinks people? The rolls were brinks if that of is any help. Thanks for any ideas.
If you keeping searching rolls you will find that those are common on BU. I keep the best on that I find for my folder other than that back to the bank. I know some people keep the 2001's and later. The sharpie mark is probably from a person that is searching halves. I've done it. You place a mark on the half and see how long it takes before it shows back up roll searching.
usually those marks mean they were previously searched by other roll hunters, I'd throw the 1990s to 2000s back in the rolls, they arent worth anything more than face, I personally only keep silver
Yes I was looking for silver mainly; I'm new to the newer halves not the older ones, so wondering what the future outlook for the new BUs would be, and thankyou for the mark explanation, not fond of the idea myself (i just mark rolls) but very intriguing... to me at least. Thankyou
I would be REALLY annoyed if I found a date I needed and it was ruined with Sharpie. There's more to life then silver!
