    Hi fellow collectors,

Has this ever happened to you?

From time to time i like to check how much value there is in
My notes, Since my collection is large and covers a wide span
From Nationals to Military payment Certificates and everything
In between "i find it annoying" When i have to keep reaching for
A new value guide every time i pick up a new note:(

The most popular guides out there right now i would say would be
Of course the Currency Dealer Green Sheet and the Bank Note
Reporter, I really like the Reporter because it gives a picture
Of what the note looks like and the value, Unfortunatley it
Doesn,t cover Military Payment Certificates and other types
Of currency you collect, If what you collect is not in there
I Urge you to write a letter to the Editor, I will gladly send
In a letter for you on your behalf, My beef is with MPC.

As far as the Currency Green Sheet is concerned it,s good but
Doesnt cover as wide of a variety as the reporter, And a big
Headache for (NO STAR COVERAGE AT ALL!!!)

If you wish to change any of this we need to make our voices
Heard!! Here are the address,s of each publisher!

  3. Honestly that doesn't bother me at all. I collect for history, "value" doesn't mean anything to me at all.

I try to stay up on what is rarer then other things and costs more for me to purchase...but that is about it.

    Sorry!

i agree with Billy! While i do keep track of what i paid for most everything - i never go back and see what the current value is. I dont collect with any care of ever pulling out and collecting my reward.

While i can understand your frustration with having so many notes and needing so many price guides to update it all... if i were you i would feel more lucky to have such a vast collection in the first place :) The in-depth price guides i have are thick enough to cover just 1 area. you just cant have a single source for price guides that covers EVERYTHING! you would need a 15 volume set to do that with. And at that point the price would be prohibitively expendive that it would price itself out of the market. Most folks do not need or want a guide that covers absolutely everything. Even if such an animal made it to market - you would still have to reach for different books within that complete set, for different areas of the collection. So while my collection does cover a wide array of subjects, if i could just find a guide that covers each area, i am happy.

maybe your methods of looking up current values needs the adjustment :p instead of doing 1 national, then 1 MPC, then i somethign else... do all your nationals with 1 price guide, then move on to the next type.

Thanks for the in put, But It sounds like collectors perspective versus a
Dealers one, I do both and want to know what my notes are worth
Even from a hobbyists point view!!

Not to do so would be like throwing your money away!!
Guess it,s just a matter of opinion after all its a free country.............

Most of what i buy will go alot in value (atleast i hope) by the time i die and hand it down to my childern or my grandkids. My girlfriend buys alot of the forigen stuff. Hopefully it will be the same with that. We just like to have fun and spend time togeather doing it. Isn't that the best part?

I agree! Its alot of fun! just want to keep track that,s all,
I recently sold a 1934-A $10 Star (North Africa) Thinking
This note would sky rocket in value but was shocked to
Learn it had lost 30% of its value! and it was in a very
    Desirable grade XF+
