Yesterday I went to the Minnesota Organization of Numismatists Coin Show at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, northwest of Minneapolis. Got there about 11:30 stayed until 2. I stink at taking pictures of coins so I am not uploading any, but this is what I got: 1875 3 Cent Nickel in VG 2008-W Burnished Silver Eagle 1901-O Barber Dime in AG-G 2009 P+D US Virgin Islands Quarters 1876 Japan 1 Sen 1953 France 20 Franc 1941 France Franc 1965 Franc 20 Centime 1981 France 10 Centime 1974 Italy 10 Lire 1958 Italy 20 Lire 1921D Germany 50 Pfenning 1954 Netherlands 25 Cent 1957 " " " " 1967 " " " " 1968 " " " " 1972 " " " " 1953 Netherlands 5 Cent 1991 Netherlands 5 Cent 1954 Denmark 25 Ore 1964 Denmark 25 Ore 1977 Norway 10 Ore 1976 Norway 10 Ore 1968 Bahamas 10 Cent 1984 Bahamas 5 Cent 1941 Britain Farthing 1943 " " 1956 Britain Scotland Shilling 1953 Britain Sixpence 1967 " " 1963 and 1963B US $1.00 FRN I was unable to find an 1876 3 Cent Nickel that was my goal. I also wanted to pick up some Morgan Dollars F-XF but those were scarce too. The Japan sen was 1.00 and the rest of the foreign stuff I found in the 4/$1.00 boxes you see there. Also for the second show in a row there was a food stand with sloppy joes. The Heritage center has a concession stand that served Sloppy Joes, Hot Dogs, Turkey and Chicken Sandwiches along with pasta salad, chips, cookies, and drinks. I got the hot dog meal which came with pasta salad and chips. Pasta Salad was really dry. Now I am sounding like Cliff Mischler! The dealer who sold me the FRN's showed me his collection of currency. Each of the notes he had the serial number ended in 007. Really nice guy. All the dealers I bought from were nice. This was the first time I went to MOON. I wanted to in the past but scheduling conflicts always prevented it. I probably will go back in the future.
Wow Rushmore, I saw Brooklyn and thought you were local. Yeah, I do know about Brooklyn MN. That's a ton o' stuff you picked up old fellow...:thumb:
I was out there too. I really enjoy this show because it is so much larger than the regular monthly shows. I only picked up one coin, a 1924-S Peace Dollar in VF condition. No a ton of bargains out there this time though. Freddypm
