I would like to just see pictures of interesting coins. As a birthday present from me to the entire forum, let's just post pictures of cool, interesting coins I will start, a new purchase of mine from CoinFest that I have not posted yet. My 6th oldest coin, from 1623. Also my first coin from Poland. It looks A LOT better in person then it scanned! This is also the thinnest coin I own, roughly the thickness of two sheets of paper.
Now that is a thin coin, nice. Happy birthday! I would post one of mine, but it has been posted many times before.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Here is one for your thread: Geta AE Brockage Laureate bust right Incuse of obverse 16mm - 2.8 grams This coin is a brockage, an error coin which is very rare and possibly unique. stainless
Not quite a coin, but I know you'll like it: Terracotta bulla 138-161 AD Laureate portrait of Antoninus Pius facing right Bullae were seals attached to documents or orders as a means of authentication. This one clearly shows the image of a laureate portrait of Antoninus Pius facing right. With such a profound Imperial portrait, its likely that this was used to seal official orders from the Emperor or one of his aides. The reverse of the piece bears striations from papyrus or cloth and still bears the fingerprints of the official who pressed it. Purportedly found in Egypt.
Cool stuff! Thanks for the pictures and birthday messages You all have some interesting stuff...way more then I do! Thanks for sharing it so I get to see it at least
Happy Birthday Billy! And if you ask for interesting coins. You shall get interesting coins . Undated Lincoln Memorial Cent--Struck on a 0.5 Grain Fragment--MS60 Brown PCGS.... Errors Sadly I do not own this (I'm not sure what to call it), but I'll go with PCGS and call it a Lincoln. But if this ever comes on the market again watch out.
Happy Birthday. This one is interesting to me. I posted it a while back and found it was worth a few bucks.
One of my LostDutchman purchases from a few years ago, and one Matt hasn't managed to buy back from me yet:
Happy Birthday, first of all. I don't have anything as esoteric as some of the interesting ones above. I do have a nice 43 Walker that I purchased from Mr. Feld.
Thanks for the new pictures. More very interesting stuff! I did get some numismatic items this year. I got a handfull of the Whitman plastic year/mint set holders (I LOVE these and intend to put my entire collection in to them!) and also 5 rolls of coins. The nicest find was a BU 1963-D cent, which replaces the mostly brown example I had. I also found a Bahamas 2000 5 cent coin in with our US Nickels and yet another mid-80s Canadian cent, I've found more then 50 throughout the years Last year I was given a copy of the Krause 20th Century book so now both times I've had a birthday since I discovered this wonderfull hobby I've gotten numismatic items I've been working on putting coins into the holders, only about halfway done but taking a break for dinner, which I am online while waiting for my brother to arrive with it. A really great day. I will have some pictures of the holders later when I finish putting coins into them, but I might not get to post them until tomorrow. I am having a lot of fun!
and manymore  No coin but i wish you a great day and hope you have 100 year's more With a irish blesing happy birtday Dave
