Hi, I was searching a roll and saw this. I am atrocious at taking pictures:headbang:, so I understand if you can not tell if it is a flaw in circulation or when the coin was minted. It is raised, no writing(just a blob of copper and zinc) and it covers up IN GOD.

That may be a rim cud, but it looks like a seam on the edge, so it may also be struck through a piece of metal. A closer picture would help.

I disagree, I think rim cuds are very special, but then I have low standards.
    LOL

I don't know what it is but it is perfectly normal on the actual rim. I looked at some pictures of other coins with rim cud and this one looks much bigger. I am looking at the cent now and it appears like the coin was struck with too much metal or was attached to another coin. The 'cud' is flat and smooth and as I stated previously has no effect on the rim.

Post a pic of the reverse. If the detail is missing directly behind the area, it is a real cud.

On the Memorial side it seems like the N in ONE is slightly short on metal. It is like a very small blemish on the reverse and the rim is slightly thinner.

yea it is I followed it to the reverse. I will see if my camera will show it.

Then it's a real cud. Very nice and medium sized. It is probably worth at least $10.

    Reverse

The N in ONE is worn as well as the rim. What is a real cud?

Yep...it's a CUD. the 10.00 estimate is pretty good but these can legitimately go for up to 30.00.

    Good coin.

Nice find! ...And I agree hold off on slabbing this one

As was said the coin is worth about ten dollars. Slabbing it will cost, including shipping and insurance, between eighteen and fifty dollars depending on where you send it. After slabbing it will still be worth ten dollars.

The actual grade is not going to have a significant effect on its value, and there is no question it is real so the only advantage left that a slab could provide is protection, and that can be accomplished much more cheaply by getting a Coin World or other generic slab shell and putting it in it yourself. Cost, about a dollar.

I sold the coin since I don't collect errors.
