I picked up 3 coin tubes of presidential dollars. I have never seen mint tubes but I guess that is what they are? 50 coins each and they have a seal stating "never circulated" and it says what mint. Is there any value in these uncirculated tubes?

I have Washington, Jefferson, and Madison. I bought them at cost and could have had 5 more tubes. Philidelphia.

Somebody bought some stuff at Walmart and paid with them oddly enough.

    Thanks,

    Erin

    I'd keep em.

I have a bank roll of every president except Monroe (still lookin), and an lighthouse album with the p and d coins of each except the P of Polk. Never seen the mint tubes though...

What you have are a product sold by a company that has been running full page ads in many newspapers selling these ollars to people and trying to convince them that they are something special. They call them "ballistic rolls" and the come in cardboard boxes made out to look like gold bars. I think they sell them at something like double face and they claim you have to pays "vault release fee" of anywhere from $78 to $108 to get the dollars released from the bank. It is nothing more than overcharging people for coins they can get at the bank for face value. What probably happened was the guy at Wal-Mart had probably visited several dealers trying to cash in on his "rare" ballistic rolls of dollars and no one would give hime more than face value. So eventually he gave up, took his loss, and spent them.
