Cool! Congrats on the extra sets. I will add these to the LN6 thread that's keeping a count.

All of my confirmation emails say the same thing:

    1. 2009 LINCOLN COIN & CHRONICLES SET (LN6)
    Qty 1 @ $55.95 - Backordered 10/30/09.

I'm comfident that they will all be shipped. I ordered my last set about 3:30 PM Eastern time. From earlier posts, I understand people were saying by 3:45 PM they were sold out.

The only word that they were sold out came from a CT member who was trying to give us all heart attacks. They're still on sale this morning.

If I have a set that sells for $200 raw that has a PF-70 dollar in it why would I send the dollar in for grading and sell the holder for $20 when I can pick up a raw dollar for $60 put it in the holder and sell the set for $200? I don't think you will see too many empty holders on ebay. If they did you buy every holder you can for $20, $30 whatever buy the dollar and cents for $60 to $70 or so and and put together sets that sell for $200 and they go back on eBay.

Hey thanks. I checked the status and the proof set is already changed to "shipped" while the other two have "expected to ship on..." I guess that means I got it. Cool. And I didn't even have to fuss with the website for an hour or more as apparently a lot of folks did!

Is the ship date the same for everyone or did early purchasers get the first ones made while late purchasers are having to wait for the "second wave" of production to hit? If we're all waiting, how in the world are people selling these on eBay already? Do people post things for sale that they don't even have in possession yet? That seems very snarky to me.

This may have been asked before and it will defintely seem somewhat silly but is the major demand for this to get the holder or is the expectation that the five coins presented this way are going to be that much more valuable than if seperate.

look at the last item on Deal News http://dealnews.com/

For those who are not in the know Dealnews is a set of links to great deals throughout the internet (a must check site every day for millions of people including me)

Dan, Didn't see anything of interest on the site. Although I have to admit that there were a pair of white loafers for sale that were to say the least, exotic. I know it would take a very big man to wear those around town because your size would be the only thing keeping you from getting the poop kicked out of you.

Additionally with all the activity in the group I couldn't resist trying to by the elusive LN 6 at The Mint. It actually went pretty smoothly but I am sure only because there wasn't a maddening crowd of, let's say 11 people, trying to order all at once. My order is backordered so who knows if I'll ever get it so I am sure that it pays to get your order in on the day of issue for a limited edition like this.

I'd been waiting a few weeks to place orders on the three mint sets, Kennedy half dollar rolls, and three polk cover series for the huge chronicle series event. It does save in S&H.

    ....and it's virtually sold out....

    From the Mint:
"Waiting List Notice: The number of orders we have taken meets the maximum limit for the United States Mint Lincoln Coin and Chronicles Set. You may still place an order for this product, which will go on a waiting list. If a product becomes available due to an order cancellation, we will fulfill orders from the waiting list on a first-in, first-served basis. We cannot provide information about your position on the waiting list."

I was on my BB for an hour trying to order online. When I gave up at about 2:00PM I called the mint and got right through. I was relieved to get a set and look forward to checking it out.

If the one I believe I have ordered actually shows up - I think I will sell it and use the proceeds on a humanitarian project. Maybe I can schmooze Peter and Doug into letting me auction it for a cause I am involved in.:thumb:

Do the people selling these on eBay already have them or are they on "expected to ship" lists like a lot of us? How could someone in good consciousness post something for sale they don't own in physicality yet?
    People.... *rolls eyes* :)
