peace medal, keelboat, american bison, or ocean in view?. so far i don't know why peace medal is the most expensive. but american bison is the most popular. and i suspect ocean in view will be the rarest. finally, i liked keelboat instead.
westward nickels yes indeed, the new obverse of nickels were so ugly. i preferred the old jefferson obverse. keelboat is still my choice. maybe i liked boat and ship. for quarters, i liked virginia and maine.
Ocean first. The view is beautiful and iconic for the Pacific NW. Keelboat second. Gives an idea of the explorers and the journey.
four nickels it seems that the pacific ocean was facing the wrong direction. the ocean normally facing west instead of east. east is for atlantic ocean.
Wow your all crazy the Bison is with out a doubt the coolest coin of the series. Heck with 20 new errors a day it's a collectors dream.
Which is how the Lewis and Clark party would have seen that view as they were based near Ft. Stevens which is north of Ecola State Park which the scene depicts.
I like the bison, don't much care for the peace metal, and keel boat does not stir to much inside me. I would lean towards the bison, since I collect buffalo nickels
four new nickels american bison is the best. but the reverse buffalo design is far far away against the old buffalo nickel. i still like the old buffalo nickel. and the buffalo quarter from kansas. i think it's the worst.
Keel boat for me. The GLARING mistake in the design of the peace nickel is ignorant at best....at least according to some indian ediquette.
