No I never said I don't want your help. I much appreciate it.
I just sometimes have responses to it.

Yeah, I know. I also understand the why behind those responses because I was your age once myself and I can remember doing similar things. Didn't make me right then and it doesn't make you right now.

Quit worrying about the ego and listen ;) Trust me, I used to have the same problem.

BNB, I am looking over your thread here and I have been following it closely. You see, I have been wanting this coin for many, many years now, but every time I get the money saved up, something comes up or something else interests me. For many years, I wouldn't even consider buying this coin, unless it was in the OGP with the 4 gold coins, but over the years, I have come to realize that since I don't collect AGEs, I don't necessarily want the 4 gold coins and a graded PR69 ASE would be fine with me. So the real question is why are you really wanting to buy the set.....to get the 95W ASE or do you want the whole set???? Making money or saving money is really secondary to the whole question here. I think you made a fine choice considering as you mentioned that you didn't have 5k to spend, but if you did, would you be selling off your gold pieces now? While everything you point out in your thread makes sense about possibly saving/making some money in the overall transaction, I am perfectly happy maybe paying a few hundred dollars more to acquire a graded example of the 95W ASE as you did. The extra time it would take me to break the set up and send it off to be graded and then sell off the remaining coins to me is worth $500-700 just for my time. Also, by doing it that way, it could end up costing you more money, because what happens if the ASE comes back a PR65? How would that affect the overall value of the coin in the long run when you try and resell the coin down the road? I don't know, so that is why I think you made a great decision to buy the ASE for the price you did and when you did. You won't be sorry you did. So unless you are really wanting the AGEs in the OGP, I would say don't worry and enjoy the coin. Be proud that you are one of around 30k or less people in the world to have this coin.

    You know what,

This was the nicest thing I've heard in a while.

You really validated and gave me a good reason to be proud of the certified purchase I made.

There are so many pros and cons to the 5k set it's not even funny and not maybe worth the risk.

So, I really need time to think this over.

$2769 is wholesale and I paid it. All by using my negotiation tactics with a seller on ebay. I'm proud of myself.

Is it now worth selling this(ie my effort it took to aquire this) just to buy a raw one that may or may not be a 69?

For 5k a lot may not think $700 saved is worth the risk.

I think that if you're pleased with the 69 DCAM, hold onto it. If you want to make some money, buy some lower priced coins to peddle to the Christmas crowd. Any profits will make your 1995-W ASE all the more cheaper. You could end up getting it for free, but I think you'll need to sell some lower priced coins to the Christmas folks. I'm thinking $25-100 dollar coins. Money is tight, so don't try to flip pricey stuff. Simply my opinion...I just don't have the energy to do it myself. Good luck!

    That's great advice actually.

What were some of those $25-100 you can specify?

I would simply cherrypick a raw set. It seems to me there's a great deal more value there -- if you can grade the coins accurately. If you can't grade them well, then a certified coin is the safer bet. I think you did just fine and wouldn't fret too much over paying a bit too much if you like the coin.
