Couple of questions for the more experienced members: Does anyone do coin trades on the site? Is it allowed by rules to offer to trade stuff? Where would I post about it? Don't want to step on any toes and do anything not allowed! I have a whole bunch of doubles of better foreign stuff, not high-grade talers or anything, just common 1800's to ww1 World coinage I'd be glad to trade for other low-cost World stuff. Thanks!
Yes and Yes In the Auction Listings page. No one can reply to that page; they reach you via PM. Other than that, normal good salesmanship applies. A good picture is paramount. You will get quite a number of page views !
I would try the Open listings forum instead of the Auctions listings page if you're not really doing this via auction. Will probably get the best response if you have a nice list of what is available and then another list of the sorts of things you would be interested in taking as trade. It's just too bad that you can't edit your posts here after 24 hours because if you have something really cool listed for trade, you'll probably get multiple offers and will continue to get offers well after the item is traded away... at least you could start a new post each week though. Good luck if you choose to proceed :thumb:
I've had good luck trading here in the Open section. Mostly I need Denver minted coins like Kennedy halves. I traded quite a bunch of States quarters too. Now I am working on 2 sets of the presidential dollars and always need the Denver dollars. It just makes sense to buy, trade, sell right here with other members and it's free.
Thanks boys, you've all been very helpful and deserve a cookie! And yes, I posted in "Open" with a long list of stuff I want to get rid of. Take a look if anyone's into cheap foreign stuff!
But it is pretty easy for you the one who makes the post to inform one of the staff and ask for that post to be marked Closed or Sold now isn't it
If you have a large inventory of not so expensive coins, you may want to start a YN giveaway. That way you could easily get rid of not so expensive coins and make some YN really happy.
