This coin commemorates the second German Shooting Fest held in Bremen in 1865. The coin is graded PCGS MS-64. The coin looks better in hand than in this picture. This Taler now completes the commem's for the German state of Bremen, in my German States commemorative set.

Thanks Luis. I know it's impossible for me to ever finish every German State. But it has been fun, and learning the history along the way has been the most rewarding. Ever since I started this set back in '72, my history book collection on Germany has grown quite large. The books my grandmother gave me are all in German. She came from Bavaria, and my grandfather was from Prussia.

That's interesting to know. Did any of them collect coins or did you start the collection yourself? No one in my family collected anything.

The fact that you can't finish is a mere detail. It's the journey that is interesting. I can never hope to finish anything either, but I figure that if I keep enjoying collecting coins I will have a beautiful collection of world silver coins, eventually.
