Netherlands 10 Guilder, why are they cheap?

Was wondering why these relatively rare gold coins don't command a better premium. They look to sell for about the same as French Francs but supposedly have a much lower production.

I collect the 1897 10 FL myself, I have quite a few of them, even a contemporary counterfeit of it. I would like to get the 1898, 1917 and 1932 examples sometime.

But face it, they are not the most attractive coins, unlike the Mariannes from France, or the Vrenellis from Switzerland - both of which feature young ladies.

An even more unlikeable coin are the Belgian 20BF's all of which had narsty kings on them.

The nicest are the Danish 20KR's from the 19th century with the Dania design:

Here's a thread I started a few months back to get some info on the Netherlands 10 Guilder coin...

    http://www.cointalk.com/t65121/

I originally posted the wrong info (from memory) but corrected it...apologies for the confusion.

Anyway, my Brother-in-law bought a dozen PCGS MS66 1875 Netherlands 10 Guilder coins from a PM company called IRI (Investment Rarities International...I think).

There were somewhere between 3-4 million minted and I think many were/are uncirculated. I bought them from him as bullion coins.
