This a gem bu 83-D from one of the roll I found at our new house we are remodeling.one roll had 15 1983-D and this is one do you think that the mint mark is an RPM????
Nice looking '83D! ...It was be easier if I knew the specifics of why you feel this is a RPM (e.g, split serifs, a separation line, etc.). Going just from the photo I think I see plating split doubling SE, but the rest of the pic of the MM lacks enough detail for me to do further analysis.
I assume you are talking about the spilts in the west side of the "D". I assume you are talking about the spilts in the west side of the "D"? The movement on the east is most likely mechanical. I have found them like this often but with further study determined most times even the doubling on the west is mechanical, to flat and shelve-like. There are some good ones though - I hope yours is. It's almost so close that a photo has a hard time - you need to see these in person most of the time.
