Another eBay coin buy gone bad-Why do I bother

Sorry, but no offense intended - same coin with different lighting. I see the same vertical hit and horizontal hits on the last two eights. Regardless of that the coin in the auction was not an 1888/7 in my opinion. Compare this one to the one in the auction. Look at the cud on the one from Rick Snows coins and look at the cud on the one in the auction. It is completely wrong. I also do not see any evidence period of 8/7 in the auction pictures, but I do see the debris you mention as darker spots. Just my humble opinion.
