CoinFest help and ideas needed!

  1. Hi Sasha, I also vote Saturday....for a couple of reasons. #1 is that the show is open the longest amount of time on Saturday, no rushing. #2 is that every dealer should be there on Saturday. #3 is all the exhibits are likely still going to be there.

For Sunday, the biggest draw is getting the medal for free. (I thought of that too) but really, I would rather have the chance to spend more time looking at things leisurely, there's less likelyhood that things I want will have previously sold. And besides, if you want a medal that much, you could always buy one for yourself at a later date :) It's not like they are exclusive to this event and if you don't get it here you will never have another chance!

I am planning on leaving my home here are 7:30 AM and expect to be there with some time to spare before it opens. I don't plan to attend that breakfast seminar myself.

Also, while this will be my first ever coin show, I have been going to various conventions since the early 1990s..the first I recall is 1993...people really don't cut the prices too much on the final day. Usually $10 or less, mostly $5. I've NEVER had anyone cut me more then $10 so they could cart less home, and even then it was somebody I've known for years and am friends with besides also being a customer of!

    Hope that helps :)

At CoinFest I met up with MANY old friends but not one CoinTalker attendee! Everyone had a big round name badge sticker on their shirt. Mine had a bright green-colored label stating "Do You CoinTalk". One dealer saw the sticker & said he was a CT member.

I sold a PF63 Barber dime & purchased a really nice AU Great Britain 2-Pence Cartwheel. The cartwheel has perfect edges and razor sharp details. I also renewed my membership with PCGS at the show & submitted some coins. (NGC was not at the show). At 10am there were about 10 people in line to get CAC stickers. The line grew & grew to the point where CAC had to cut off the free submissions. I found two coins for my Liberty nickel collection. I just need to find the money to pay for them now. :smile

I drove an elderly friend to the show & we both had a great time.
