Today when I went to the bank to withdraw some money the teller gave me two bills with their serial numbers ending with a star. One of them is a twenty dollars bill and the other is a fifty dolllars bill. One of them is from a 1996 series and the other one is from a 2004a series. can anybody give me more info on this star notes and do they have any value other than their face value. thanks..

collectively they are worth a minimum of $70 :)

ther are a few things that go into determining the value of a note - date or series, serial with the first and last letters, and condition of the note. Which note is 1996 and which is 2004a - can make a big differance. www.uspapermoney.info/serials is a very ncie site to look up how many notes might have been printed for each series and district.

or, just post pictures as mentioned above :) that would give us almost everything we need :)
