i did some commisioned hobo nickels and other carvings a couple of years ago for a vip at nasa and he made a gift to my 2 grandsons of two autographed ohio state quarters of two of the sts-111 crew members, plus pictures, patches etc.......if i remember right he had ten quarters autographed of which i,ve two
ohio st. quarters i think that two of the ones left got in a coin auction and brought a rather high dollar...
Neat items. Many years ago I started a collection of all shuttle flight medals and accompanying patches. Each time we travel to Florida and go to the Space Cebter, I add a few more to my collection. It will be quite a while before this collection is caught up on, but it is a fun thing to do.
Congrats on the nice gift! It is about time you got rewarded for your super carvings! Have you considered doing the carvings for a Kentucky and Tennessee Commemorative coin, yet? I would bet you can do really nice carvings of old Dan'l and Davey and would get my vote! Frank
