Pulled only 12 wheats from a box today but the last roll had this 22D in it. I think it is a normal D but it was still a nice find. The 1910 is the oldest I have found in a while so that was cool too!
Pretty cool! The 1910 is older then anything I have ever found out there, early last year my mom got a 1919 cent in change at the grocery store.
I am happy when I do box searches if I pick out 10 or more Wheats. The best for numbers was something like 27-28 coins. Last year I found two 1909's including one VDB from Philly. I searched a box last week, found a 1929-D and a 1939 a couple of 1940's and the rest in the '40s adn '50's.
I found an 11-S in change a few weeks ago. Seems hard enough to fund a wheat cent much less something like a 10, 11-S or 22-D. My wife works in a bank and rarely sees anything. About 10 years ago she called me and said she had three rolls of "funny looking half dollars", I nearly got a speeding ticket to get to the bank and buy them. Three rolls of Walkers in Fine+ including a 21-D... I felt bad for the original owner......
Those are some great finds too!!! Normally only find 40's and 50's so it was a good day yesterday. Had a box a couple weeks ago with 27 wheats and about 10 2009 cents. It seemed like there was something in every roll. Thanks all!
I got two of the formative years rolls, complete original rolls, in the box I got last week. I also got a couple of the LC coins and one of the T3 coins in other rolls. First time I have seen them in circulation - they must be starting to filter out.
