Try holding a 5x-10x loupe to the front of a digital camera. It depends on the camera, but it may have to be on macro to do this.

Use lots of light and maybe a tripod or monopod for stabilization.

Way to difficult to explain so what I suggest is to just send all your coins to me and I'll take photos of them and send you the photos. No, not the coins, the photos. Cost money to charge the batteries on my cameral.
Actually if you do a search on this forum for coin photography, coin photos, etc., you'll find all kinds of suggestions. Many coin forums have a separate section of sub forum on photography. For exaple www.coppercoins.com
Then too there are places on the internet for just taking photos.
Myself, since digital cameras can take thousands of photos, I just keep on shooting until I like the results. All the rest get the delete button.
I get my best results outdoors on a black surface, not in direct sunlight but in a really bright area. Black surface should be flat, not gloss.

Good advice from JustCarl, also there are a number of good coin photo books referenced in past threads. Click on SEARCH on the blue bar above.

And after reading everything just practise.....:) Play with lighting and background - depending on the coin on what might work.
