I have a collection of Tsar Nikolai II coins, but I would like to delve into Finnish sometime. They are much scarcer, and more difficult to find in BU grades. Nice pieces, thanks for sharing.
You always have very cool additions, Regandon. I don't always comment but I try to see them all. Thanks for sharing your collection with us
And unfortunately Chinese counterfeiters have also found Finnish coins recently. There are some examples of counterfeits (mostly from Ebay) from a Finnish coin forum's counterfeit topic: 1 penni 1864: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a115/ ... 4kopio.jpg 25 penniä 1876: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a115/ ... 6kopio.jpg 2 markkaa 1867: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a115/ ... 7kopio.jpg 25p 1871: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a115/ ... 1kopio.jpg 25p 1868: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a115/ ... 8kopio.jpg 25p 1867: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a115/ ... 7kopio.jpg 1mk 1864: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a115/ ... 4kopio.jpg 2mk 1905: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a115/ ... 5kopio.jpg 2mk 1866: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a115/ ... 6kopio.jpg At the moment, quality of counterfeits is bad but I have a feeling that it will be better in the near future. Of course there are lot of easy dates and some coins are common in better grades, but be aware of these if you buy them from internet auctions.
Thanks for posting those fakes. They generally look terrible, but no doubt the quality will improve. I wonder if they'll ever be able to duplicate the surface/color of the copper coins from this period? We'll see.
