Four Pence 1842

    hey how much might this be worth?

    on the front it says four pence 1842 with a man sat on something

    and on the back ir says "victoria d g britanniar fegina f d"

    the coin to lightly worn at the edges

    According to World Coin Gallery maybe a couple of bucks.

    Presuming you are American, about $5-$10 retail in that conditon....

    It is an 1842 Four Pence (or more commonly called, groat). The obverse portrays the young Queen Victoria. Legends reads as Victoria D:G: (By the grace of God) Britanniar : Regina (Queen of the Britains) F:D: (Defender of the Faith). The reverse is Britannia (which is a woman BTW) seated. In its condition its not worth but maybe £2.

    I would agree with Byrd on the value looking at the pic £2 to (if you were very lucky) £5 It would though make a nice start to someones collection :high5:
