hey how much might this be worth? on the front it says four pence 1842 with a man sat on something and on the back ir says "victoria d g britanniar fegina f d" the coin to lightly worn at the edges thanks
It is an 1842 Four Pence (or more commonly called, groat). The obverse portrays the young Queen Victoria. Legends reads as Victoria D:G: (By the grace of God) Britanniar : Regina (Queen of the Britains) F: (Defender of the Faith). The reverse is Britannia (which is a woman BTW) seated. In its condition its not worth but maybe £2.
I would agree with Byrd on the value looking at the pic £2 to (if you were very lucky) £5 It would though make a nice start to someones collection :high5:
