Just sittin here on my beach front property in Arizona admiring this 1964 Peace dollar. Anyone know what it's worth ?
to the highest bidder? I have a Trade dollar. About as useful as Beach Frontage in AZ:rolling:. Oh, my fav is my 1886 CC Morgan. $00.10 (Cents/pennies?) plus shipping and fondling
you joke about it, but were all the 1964's melted? I bet in the next few years, 1 will show up! My bet is that one will be given up in a "will" of a mint worker. After all look what happened to the gold 20 dollar pieces, once there was 1 now there is 11 or is it 12?
Somebody actully posted a pretty nice picture of one on here and said they would like to take it to the Moon, because they couldn't do anything with it here. I doubt it was real but it was real interesting to see it. Heck it could be real I am going to find that post and look again.
I'd have to ask one of the pros on the board, but I think there were never any 64 Peace dollars minted.
Is that a real photo or something Photoshopped? The last time I think I saw a photo I trusted of the '64 Peace was in a CoinAGE magazine back in the mid-90s.
Actually it was a PCGS slab and Illini had posted it. Who knows I am not going to call anyone out on this site over something like that. You folks are way more knowledgable than I am.
I checked the Cert #s just for fun. The NGC one Doug posted came up as an invalid number, and the PCGS one Illini came back a 1964 D MS66  ... dime, lol.
I'm sure a couple are out there. I have even read reports that some well known dealers have reportedly seen them.
That is true they never made any 1964 Peace dollars, but they did make over 300,000 1964-D's. If you really want to learn about the 1964 -D Peace dollars get Whitman's Redbook of Peace dollars by Roger Burdette.
